About Sales work in KwaZulu-Natal
Sales is the largest employment category on this board by volume, and commission-heavy structures are the norm in insurance, motor, property and business software. Employers hire for resilience and pipeline discipline rather than for qualifications, so a track record of hitting a number beats a certificate. Always ask two questions before you sign: what the on-target earnings figure actually is, and whether any commission is guaranteed during probation. A solid base with a realistic OTE is usually worth more than a small base attached to an uncapped promise.
Durban’s port drives KwaZulu-Natal employment: freight, logistics, manufacturing and sugar. Pietermaritzburg adds government and education. The reliable hiring pockets are the port-adjacent warehousing operations and the automotive corridor south of the city.
